Bio

Dr. Odysseas Kontovourkis, Ph.D. in Architecture, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Cyprus. His research interests focus on the development of integrative computational design and fabrication mechanisms through multi-objective analysis, performance-based architectural design and robotic construction of systems according to sustainability criteria. Also, he examines topics in the fields of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), parametric design and 3D scanning. In parallel, he teaches and coordinates undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of computational design and digital fabrication. His teaching philosophy focuses on an integrated approach that combines teaching of digital design skills and raising awareness in regard to the role of digital tools as mechanisms of architectural design exploration and design decision-making with emphasis on digital design thinking.
