Development details from Reconfiguring Motions

by Leontios Toumpouris

For his residency at CYENS Thinker Maker Space (TMS), Toumpouris developed his research project Reconfiguring motions that involved interrelations of walking and making, migration and land. Leading up to his solo exhibition at Korai in March-April 2022 under the same title, Toumpouris gave an artist talk at TMS focusing on shifts between manual making and digital procedures. He talked about content, form and processes that allowed him to negotiate ideas of movement, communication and connectivity. The exhibited objects were previously installed at TMS to accompany his talk. They function as partial manifestations of the project’s development processes and signify transitions that occurred during his time at TMS.

The project was developed as part of the Artist-in-Residence Program at CYENS Thinker Maker Space.
